An officer and a prisoner were sent to hospital after a police vehicle collided with a slow-moving train.
Shoal Lake RCMP were called to the collision on Highway 21 south of Hamiota around noon on Sunday.
They found a marked Dakota Ojibway Police Service vehicle with extensive damage to its front end.
RCMP said the 2011 Ford F250 was being driven by a DOPS officer who was transporting a 22-year-old male prisoner.
The truck hit a slow-moving CN train, a collision which sent both the officer and prisoner to hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but RCMP said fog and icy roads were reported in the area at the time.
