Prepayments of 2014 property taxes now being accepted

The City of Brandon is now accepting prepayments of 2014 property taxes, based on 2013 billings.

Taxes may be paid in advance for 2014 to a maximum value equivalent to the 2013 taxes, if your 2013 taxes have already been paid in full.

“As a further service to taxpayers, taxes may also be paid monthly by automatic bank withdrawal using our Tax Installment Plan (TIP) at no additional cost. Neither prepayment discounts nor late payment penalties apply to payments made while enrolled in this plan,” a statement posted on the City of Brandon’s website reads.

For more information, visit 410 Ninth St. or call 204-729-2228 or 204-729-2592 or visit brandon.ca/departments/ treasury/taxes-a-assesment.

Enrollment into this plan for 2014 should be made as soon as possible and must be made no later than June 12.

The City of Brandon’s tax due date will be June 30.
