RCMP: 32 charged with impaired driving

The RCMP caught three people with a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit during their Holiday Checkstop Program last week.

Thirty-two people in total were charged with impaired driving, with an average blood alcohol level of 0.154, almost twice the legal limit. Three people were also charged with refusal.

Over 2,500 cars were checked across the province during 91 checkstops.

This time last year, the RCMP checked over 4,800 cars in 99 checkstops and charged 35 people with impaired driving.
