The Brandon Riverbank Discovery Centre has reopened, now that floodwaters have receded enough.
The centre, located across from the Corral Centre on Conservation Drive, was closed July 8 due to high water and diking operations. During the closure, temporary services were being done from a kiosk at Shoppers Mall.
Now that the Assiniboine River has gone down dramatically — it was measured Wednesday morning at 1,177.1 feet above sea level — the centre will resume normal hours immediately. The Shoppers Mall kiosk has been closed.
The centre is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on weekends and holidays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
However, for now, the RV dump and many pathways near the centre remain closed due to high water.
