Thanks to $22,950 in federal funding, the Rural Municipality of Strathclair will renovate the Salt Lake Carlton Beach washrooms to meet accessibility standards.
These upgrades will enhance the existing beach, which includes a recreational vehicle park and campgrounds.
“The Salt Lake Carlton Beach is enjoyed by many families for reunions, social gatherings, camping and swimming lessons,” Strathclair Reeve Ken Wozney said.
“This funding from Western Economic Diversification Canada will allow us to upgrade the washroom and shower facilities, making them accessible to all.”
Robert Sopuck, Conservative member of Parliament for Dauphin-Swan River-Marquette, announced the funding, which comes from the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund.
CIIF supports, on a cost-shared basis, repairs and improvements to existing community infrastructure accessible to the public.
Western Economic Diversification Canada is delivering the fund in Western Canada with an allocation of $46.2 million over two years.
