An evening seminar later this month will look at some of the challenges facing Brandon, and how they can be tackled.
Brandon, like many other municipalities across Canada, is facing serious challenges in financing the maintenance, rehabilitation and replacement of its aging infrastructure system and the system’s ability to support urban growth.
Now, in an effort to bring community leaders, stakeholders and the development community together to understand the financial implications of land use decisions and urban growth, the City of Brandon is inviting people to an evening seminar on financing urban growth.
The seminar will feature Ray Essiambre, from of InfraCycle Fiscal Solutions, as the keynote speaker, and will feature topics such as how municipalities get to this stage, the process of fiscal impact analysis and ways for municipalities to get on the road to financial sustainability.
The seminar will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. in the Louis Riel Room at Brandon University.
