Sunday was assault day in Brandon, with police making several arrests in separate incidents.
• At 7:41 a.m., a disturbance was reported at a residence on Madison Crescent. It was found a woman had been assaulted by a man that she knew during an altercation. The victim received minor injuries to her upper body. The suspect was located and arrested, police said in a release Monday. A 23-year-old Brandon man is to appear in court on Dec. 24, charged with assault. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.
•At 11:11 a.m., a woman reported she had been assaulted by a male about an hour earlier, at a residence on Cornell Bay. The victim had minor injuries to her extremities. A suspect was located and arrested. A 31-year-old Brandon man will appear in court on Nov. 26 on a charge of assault.
• At 5:51 p.m., a disturbance was reported on the 800-block of Pacific Avenue. Police responded and located a female victim, who indicated she had been slapped in the upper body by a male suspect. The suspect had since left the scene and a computer check revealed that he was not to have any contact with the female victim. A warrant of arrest has been requested for a 29-year-old Brandon man, on charges of assault and breach of probation.
• At 11:28 p.m., a report was received that a male suspect was intoxicated and causing problems at a residence on Westaway Bay. Police said they responded, but the suspect had left the area prior to their arrival. It was discovered that the male suspect had assaulted the female victim before leaving. A warrant of arrest has been requested for a 26-year-old Brandon man on a charge of assault.
