A Brandon boy faces a slew of charges after he was picked up drunk on Tuesday, and was found to have a sawed-off shotgun stashed in his bedroom, police say.
The youth, whose exact age wasn’t released by police, had been picked up by officers on the 800-block of Sixth Street, after his guardian reported that he had left home in an impaired state.
Police say he was breaching the conditions of a court order by drinking alcohol, and he was taken to the drunk tank.
The guardian later called police to inform them that a sawed-off shotgun had been found in the youth’s bedroom.
The boy has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order and five counts of breach of probation.
