Growling over backyard breeders
I think it is about time that the City of Brandon should make these backyard puppy breeders pay a significant fee for the overpopulation of the dogs. I think $500 is the minimum that they should be charged. They are the biggest part of the problem of over-population in the city.
Take a lesson from Swan Lake
Someone should take notice of Swan Lake First Nation governance structure and teach other First Nations how to better manage band affairs for betterment of the community and not their pockets. The potential is there in every community but wrong leadership, or lack of leadership qualities, prevent First Nations from moving ahead in economics, proper government program deliveries and more expertise in decision making procedures. Hats off to Swan Lake First Nation chief and council and its membership. Keep being an excellent model of what can be with good governance!
New Hydro president needs to listen to those who know
I sincerely hope that the new president of Manitoba Hydro has the greatest respect for the top engineers of the company. The engineers have recommended that the optimal and most efficient route for Bipole III is down the east side of the province. The new president must overcome the massive political interference from our provincial NDP government or the Crown corporation’s future is bleak indeed.
Frustration of the game
In response to the “good representative” comments, I would foremost congratulate the Fowler team for winning the Safeway Championship and wish them all the best in the Brier. Team McEwen has been the No. 1-ranked men’s team in the world for quite some time. When you follow blogs, Twitter and Facebook together with numerous articles in the press, team McEwen is constantly referred to as being a team exhibiting the utmost of integrity, good sportsmanship and obviously held in high esteem as the No. 1 team in the world. Perhaps Mr. McEwen did make some remarks out of character and made out of the frustration after the loss. What I find impressive is immediately after the team had time to compose itself after a difficult loss, Mr. McEwen had the fortitude to rectify what had been said in a moment of frustration.
Let’s show them some support
I attend Wheat Kings games regularly and I am ashamed of the fans that leave early when it is a tied game.
