Police have tracked down and charged a suspect they originally believe was responsible for trying to break into a Brandon restaurant.
As first reported last week, early in the morning of Aug. 20, an alarm went off at a restaurant on the 1600-block of Park Avenue. The manager arrived and found that a man was trying to pry open the front doors.
That man fled northward on a bicycle. A possible suspect was checked in the area by police later that morning, but at that time, they weren't able to tie him to the crime.
Further investigation has identified him as the man allegedly responsible and police arrested him on Tuesday.
A 21-year-old Brandon man is to appear in court on Oct. 15 on a charge of attempted break and enter.
