Dauphin police detained a teenager over the weekend who’s accused of smashing in one vehicle’s window and trying to bash in a second one.
Officers from the Dauphin RCMP were called just past 7 p.m. on Sunday evening to First Avenue NE in that city, where it was reported that a teenager had broken a window out of parked vehicle, and then walked away.
As the officers were on their way to investigate, a second call came in, reporting a similar incident about three blocks away from the first. The same suspect was believed to be responsible, but in this case, he only managed to chip the window of a parked vehicle.
Police managed to find and arrest the youth, who was later determined to be on probation, under a court order, and was breaching both of those.
A 17-year-old Dauphin boy has been charged with two counts of mischief, two counts of breach of probation and two counts of breach of undertaking.
He was held overnight in custody to appear in Dauphin court yesterday.
