An argument on the streets of St. Lazare sent two victims to hospital and a pipe-wielding teen to jail.
RCMP Prairie Mountain area officers were dispatched to a report of a serious assault in St. Lazare at about 4 a.m. on Sunday.
Officers had been told the victim was being transported to hospital.
When officers arrived at the hospital, they found that there were in fact two victims of assault, not one.
The victims, a 24-year-old male of St. Lazare and a 25-year-old male of the RM of Ellice, told the officers that the suspect struck the pair with a metal pipe over a disagreement on a street of St. Lazare.
The victim’s injuries are considered extensive but not life-threatening.
A 17-year-old male has been arrested and faces two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The teen has been remanded into custody to appear today in Brandon court.
