Teen faces charges after Victoria Ave. crash

A 16-year-old girl faces a number of charges after a crash late Monday night that police say may have been deliberate.

Just before 11 p.m., the girl was behind the wheel of a car headed north on 25th Street when she apparently didn’t stop at the Victoria Avenue stop sign. The car was then hit on the driver’s side by an eastbound pickup truck on Victoria, sending the girl to hospital for minor injuries suffered after the airbags went off.

The driver of the pickup didn’t require medical treatment.

Police say they continue to investigate the crash, including the possibility that the girl may have caused it on purpose. She already faces a number of charges under the Highway Traffic Act.
