A 16-year-old boy faces charges after telling police he stabbed a man in Pine River on Friday evening. The victim, found unresponsive nearby, is now in stable condition in hospital.
Parkland RCMP responded to a 911 call on Friday evening at about 10 p.m. and were directed to a Pine River home where they were told there was a distraught male.
A 16-year-old was found in his home, and told officers that he had stabbed a man, and that the victim had walked away.
Police say they searched the area and found the victim, 37, lying unresponsive nearby. He was wearing just pants and a T-shirt, with apparent stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where he was reported to be in stable condition.
The 16-year-old male is currently in custody and facing a number of charges, including aggravated assault. Police continue to investigate.
