Telus Corp. announced Monday its 4G wireless service is now available in Brandon and Carberry.
Yesterday’s announcement is part of the company’s $7-million capital investment to further expand westward in the province in 2012. The new wireless coverage also includes the communities of Austin and MacGregor.
Manitoba’s 4G coverage is already available in and around Winnipeg, Highway 59 from Winnipeg to Victoria Beach and the Trans-Canada Highway from Winnipeg to Portage la Prairie.
Telus’ $7-million investment expands and enhances its state-of-the-art 4G wireless network, offering manufacturers’ rated peak download speeds of up to 42 Mbps (with expected average speeds of seven to 14 Mbps) and builds on the more than $700 million the company has invested in technology and operations in Manitoba since 2000.
Telus’s 4G wireless network now reaches about 73 per cent of Manitobans.
