For more than four decades, the Irish Rovers have charmed and entertained audiences around the world with their exciting stage shows.
They’re currently on their “Drunken Sailor Tour” and will be making a stop in Brandon once again to take the stage at the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium.
Fans will enjoy the old hits as well as the newer favourites. Then after the show they’ll have the opportunity to meet the band in the lobby as the lads come out to sign CDs and memorabilia.
With original members George Millar and Wilcil McDowell, the band includes John Reynolds and Sean O’Driscoll, both of whom have been playing with the band for nearly 25 years, Ian Millar who joined in 2005 and drummer Fred Graham who has been touring with the lads since 2007. All members hail from Ireland.
After more than 40 albums released in North America and many more internationally, the Irish Rovers continue to receive rave reviews for their recordings and performances around the world.
This year marks 46 years as recording artists with their new CD, “Drunken Sailor” (Rover Records). Its release was spurred by more than five million YouTube hits of their usual show-closer, Drunken Sailor.
The broadcast of their television special, “Home In Ireland,” was filmed entirely on-location at the most picturesque spots of their homeland in and around County Antrim.
The Irish Rovers are still passionate about performing and will continue to tour and entertain their legions of fans.
The Brandon show kicks off at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 19.
