Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health is investigating, along with Grandview RCMP, after storm cleanup efforts injured a man on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency workers were called to a ditch about two kilometres south of Grandview, on Highway 366, at about 2:30 p.m. that day.
A heavy-duty truck, involved in the ongoing cleanup from Wednesday’s thunderstorm, had become stuck and a tractor had been attempting to pull it out. However, a piece of metal broke off the truck, flying back and striking the tractor driver.
The man, a 66-year-old from Grandview, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
