To mark 50 years of serving Manitoba residents, Westoba Credit Union and its various branches will hand out $50,000 in grants next month.
Westoba will mark 50 years of service on Oct. 3, when it will present five grants to organizations in Winnipeg and western Manitoba, worth $10,000 each. The 50th Anniversary Community Grants have been announced for:
• The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba in Brandon;
• The Carberry Agricultural Society in Carberry;
• The Tivoli Community Theatre in Pilot Mound;
• The Kelsey Community School in The Pas; and
• The Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation based in Winnipeg.
“Westoba is very pleased to award five deserving recipients from our communities with a 50th Anniversary Community Grant,” Westoba CEO Jim Rediger said in a press release.
“The response was overwhelming and to select five entries was very difficult due to the excellent quality of the submissions we received. We are pleased to be part of the communities we serve and look forward to assisting our communities for years to come.”
Also on Oct. 3, each Westoba Credit Union location will celebrate with cake, refreshments and prizes. At 2 p.m., representatives from the receiving organizations will be at their local branch accepting the $10,000 community grants.
Westoba invites the public to join in celebrating the awarded organizations and its 50th anniversary.
