A father faces charges after allegedly forcing his girlfriend out of her car and driving off with their seven-month-old son on Wednesday afternoon.
Police were called just past 1 p.m. that day, after the woman was allegedly forced out of the car near the junction of Victoria Avenue East and Highway 110.
The suspect drove off in the woman’s car, leaving her there, and taking their child with him.
After an arrest warrant was requested for the suspect, he turned himself in, with the child, at the Brandon police station.
A 23-year-old Brandon man was to appear in court Thursday on charges of abduction and taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.
