Police in Dauphin have arrested one woman, but are looking for three more suspects after a Dauphin man was cut multiple times during an assault in that city.
The victim, a 32-year-old, first reported the assault on Monday to RCMP in Dauphin. Although he had a number of cuts on his body, his initial account was too vague for police to make an arrest.
After he was re-interviewed on Wednesday, investigators got more information — enough to allow them to search a home on Forrest Avenue West in Dauphin, which they did later that evening.
On Thursday afternoon, charges of aggravated assault, forcible confinement and uttering threats were laid against four Dauphin residents.
Sheena Yvonne Shingoose, 28, has been remanded in custody to appear in Dauphin court on Monday. The other three people have not yet been arrested.
Police say their investigation continues.
