Woman injured in Ride for the Cure on Belmont-area farm

First responders were called on Saturday after a woman was thrown from her horse at the start of the Ride for the Cure fundraising event on a farm near Belmont.

The woman was dragged across a field before finally being able to free herself from the stirrup.

The woman, whose name has not been released, received medical attention. She was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
