When a 15-year-old driver of a stolen truck was stopped by Brandon police early Monday morning, the youth ran away, ditching a large knife.
Police stopped the 2015 GMC truck at about 5:20 a.m. on the 1900-block of Richmond Avenue. The vehicle was later determined to be stolen out of Minnedosa.
The youth was charged with theft of motor vehicle, resisting arrest, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and also was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for driving without a driver’s licence and having no liability insurance.
He was taken to the Brandon Correctional Centre.
