Enrolment numbers released at Manitoba's two largest universities

WINNIPEG - First-day enrolment numbers at the University of Manitoba were the second highest on record.

The university says the more than 29,000 students represent nearly three-quarters of Manitoba’s full-time equivalent university students.

Graduate enrolment is at 3,300 while there are 4,200 international students.

Enrolment at the University of Winnipeg this fall has also increased to close to 10,000 students.

The university says the largest increase is in graduate degree programs.

There’s a 16 per cent increase from last year in the number of students pursing a master’s degree.

The number of international students has increased 3.5 per cent to 537.
