President of Red River College will pay for golf shoes she claimed as expense

WINNIPEG - The president of Red River College says she is going to pay for the golf shoes she claimed as an expense.

Stephanie Forsyth says in a statement she will also pay back any other expenses that are deemed inappropriate.

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation called Forsyth onto the carpet Wednesday after obtaining her cash claims through a freedom of information request.

It said she was reimbursed for things that included shoes, groceries and items for her BMW.

Forsyth says she welcomes any investigation by the school's board of governors.

She plans to make all her expenses public on the college's website starting April 1.

The golf shoes were only used for college business, a golf tournament she participated in, Forsyth said in the statement.

"However, I understand some people may find the expense questionable, so I will repay this expense."
