Winnipeg judge reserves decision on sentence for repeat drunk driver

WINNIPEG - A judge has reserved his decision in the sentencing of a 30-year old Winnipeg man for driving drunk and killing a woman last year.

Adam Langan was driving more than 120 kilometres an hour when he hit 71-year-old Doreen Chaikowsky's car in August 2013.

Several other people were also hurt in the crash.

Langan pleaded guilty to impaired driving causing death in May.

The Crown and Langan's defence lawyer jointly submitted a recommendation that Langan be sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison.

Langan will be sentenced on July 31.
