Sylvia Ubell of Two Farm Kids holds a dozen farm eggs. During the next week, the store is holding a promotion where with every $40 spent, the customer will receive a free carton of eggs.
Two Farm Kids, located at 565 34th St., has an egg-cellent promotion going on.
With every $40 purchase of regular priced merchandise, Two Farm Kids will give you a dozen farm eggs for free! The egg promotion started yesterday and runs until March 30, except for on March 29, Good Friday, when the store will be closed. (They will open again on March 30 for the last day of the promotion and also to run their end-of-the-month 20 per cent off all bulk foods promotion.)
Sylvia Ubell, who runs the shop now with her daughter Keegan, said they have been running the popular egg promotion for a few years now.
Ubell said they run the free egg promotion during the fall before Christmas and in the spring right before Easter.
Ubell said this past year, Two Farm Kids gave away more than 600 dozen eggs just during the fall promotion.
"I think it’s a good way to promote some fresh local products we have and get some new customers in that maybe haven’t shopped in our store before," Ubell said. "A lot of people don’t even know we do it, and then we tell them their purchases qualify them for a free dozen eggs. They’re so surprised. There’s not a lot you can get for free."
Two Farm Kids offer a vast variety of natural and certified organic products, including flour, cereals, beans, pasta, nuts and grains, as well as Canadian manufactured natural supplements and specialty food, such as gluten-free and diabetic.
Ubell has also recently published a book, called "Healthy Living," also available for sale.
Two Farm Kids is open Monday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Thursdays until 8 p.m.

Kuipers Family Bakery
Kuipers Family Bakery has found a way to be more efficient for its customers.
Starting April 6, Kuipers Family Bakery, located at 1411 First St., will reduce its Saturday store hours.
The new hours will be 7 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
Harold Kuipers, owner of Kuipers Family Bakery, said while the bakery will still be baking during regular hours Tuesday to Saturday, the bakery will be open to the public from Tuesday to a shorter Saturday during the week.
Kuipers said traffic has declined on the weekends and the move will allow him to serve his restaurant and hotel customers better.
Kuipers has also dropped cakes and doughnuts from the menu, but added many other tantalizing items, included cheese buns and pizza buns.
