If you’ve had the same old tired countertop for a while —you know the one that has loads of scratches, stains and whatnot, you might be wondering what type of countertop to replace it with. Wheat City Granite just might have the solution for you.
With free home estimate, Wheat City Granite owners Don Fehr and Sam Mulaw and their staff can tell you why a granite countertop is a good fit for your home and how much it will cost to custom make a countertop to fit your space.
Located at 30 11th St., Fehr said the staff at Wheat City Granite mainly work out of your home and don’t really offer regular store hours.
"If people want to see the displays they will call and make an appointment," said Fehr.
"But we do most of our work in the home visit."
Fehr said doing a complimentary home visit allows Wheat City Granite staff to measure, price and custom fit something that is functional and will last a lifetime in your home.
Fehr said he previously built granite countertops in California, and has now moved back to Brandon to do the same.
Fehr said there are other places in Brandon where a granite countertop can be purchased, but no other place in town makes the counter tops, which can really affect the price of your purchase.
"The cost of the granite is about the same, but you cut probably half the cost when the countertop isn’t shipped in from Winnipeg," Fehr said. "Granite is more costly, but it is basically a lifetime investment. It will last forever and it really ups the value of your home."

"There will be all kinds of stuff, from old time rock and roll to classical — you never know what’s going to turn up."
So far, Burnett has 20 tables rented out, but he said he does have a few more available inside the community centre for rent for $20 and is offering any number of outside tables for $15.
