Custom Auto Truck Accessories has a new owner.

Ken Nerbas, who previously was an Old Dutch Foods owner/operator, purchased the Custom Auto Truck Accessories, located at 221 Rosser Ave., after being a customer there for many years.

"I think it’s an exciting business to own and it was a great opportunity," said Nerbas, who took over the business from Aime and Pat Hudon, who owned Custom Auto Truck Accessories for the past 26 years.

Nerbas said Aime Hudon plans to stay on with the business as manager for the next few years as Nerbas learns the ropes.

Custom Auto Truck Accessories sells all sorts of accessories for cars, trucks and farm vehicles.

Custom Auto Truck Accessories is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Evolve Studio

Sometimes you don’t know what you have until it’s gone.

That’s the case for Pamela Middleton, who just reopened her hair salon, Evolve Studio, after taking a three-year hiatus from owning a business.

Middleton owned Pamper You in Brandon for 15 years before selling it and working at a different salon for three years.

"I think after being immersed in (your business) it’s hard to see where you are going and what you want," said Middleton, who is a hairstylist and life coach. "Now that I’ve been out of it, I can see that — where I’m going and what I want to do."

Evolve Studio opened in December at 1439 Princess Ave. and offers all hair services and waxing.

Evolve is open Monday to Saturday by appointment. To make an appointment, call Evolve Studio; call 204-729-9999.

Horizon Builders

Brandon is about to get some new retail space.

Horizon Builders Ltd. is busy "finishing" the building it started on Brandon Avenue a number of years ago into a strip mall/office space.

Three retail spaces, that will be about 2,000 to 2,600 square feet each when completed this spring, will be going into the same building at 2015 Brandon Ave. that houses Brandon Animal Clinic.

"There is unbelievable traffic now down Brandon Avenue. It’s a high traffic area and it’s only getting busier," said Rod Lindenberg, co-owner of Horizon Builders Ltd.

Lindenberg said the parking lot is not big enough to house a restaurant in one of the available spaces, but the spaces would be ideal for offices.

For more information on renting one of these spaces, contact Horizon Builders Ltd. at 204-727-1736 or visit the company online at horizonbuilders.ca.

Komfort Kitchen

I’d like to correct a time error printed in last week’s column about when Komfort Kitchen would be hosting its continental breakfast. The correct time of the continental breakfast is 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday to Saturday.

The restaurant will still be hosting its soup and salad bar from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For more information, call Komfort Kitchen at 204-727-6867.
