Silvertip Angler Promotions and Apparel is quickly becoming the choice for branded apparel and promotional material for some organizations and sports teams in Brandon.
The home-based Silvertip Angler Promotion and Apparel is run by owner Barry Mymko, who says his hours are 24-7.
"I’ll answer the phone whenever. A lot of the people ordering these products are volunteers and have to do it after hours so I can make my schedule work for theirs," Mymko said.
Mymko makes promotional material out of "anything they want to put a logo on," including key chains, notebooks, coffee cups, bags, apparel and more. Mymko said he has been doing orders from across Canada and for many local teams and businesses.
"I’m a fairly new business, but because I operate out of my home I don’t have the overhead and the cost of a large staff. Because of that I can offer good value and good pricing for my customers," Mymko said.

Bladeworx Barber and Salon
Bladeworx Barber and Salon in Brandon has brought back the old school feel back for its male clientele.
Bladeworx, located at 1502 Rosser Ave., recently expanded into a new space in its mini-mall location to offer a complete male retreat.
"A few things have changed since the ’80s when barber shops were popular," said Bladeworx owner Quentin Derhak, who opened the shop in 2010 with the help of fellow barber Jesse Spence.
"We have a real man cave complete with a dart board and fishing shows on the big TV on the wall. It’s got a real guys feel about it ... where you can get a haircut and an old school hot shave."
The men’s only area features comfy couches, saloon doors and an area where the men can "speak freely."
Derhak said the "man cave" is separated from the salon with a wall and each area is visible but only through a large fish tank in the wall.
Men’s haircuts are $17, a shave is $30 and a haircut with a shave is $40.
Bladeworx also has a salon with complete services, including cuts and styles, colours, highlights perms and more for men, women and children, with women’s haircuts starting at $25 and kids haircuts (done in an adorable race car chair) are $15. Bladeworx offers a free eyebrow wax with every hair service. Also a 10 per cent discount is offered to members of the military, Brandon Police Service and Fire and Emergency Services and their families.
For information or to book an appointment in the salon or barber shop, call 726-4248 or book your appointment online at bladeworx.ca.
