* 8:30 a.m. -- Country style: The Hamiota agricultural fair will feature horse and cattle shows, inflatables and activities for the children to enjoy, displays of baking and handicrafts, a parade and more.
* 9 a.m. -- Mother Nature's gifts: A farmers' market will be held in Carberry. At 10 a.m., the Heritage Village in Minnedosa will also host a farmers' market.
* 5:30 p.m. -- Good grub: A Bud, Spud and Steak night will be held in The Roadhouse, in the Canad Inns to help the Cloverleafs fund their trip to the Baseball Canada Senior Championship in Nova Scotia.
* 6 p.m. -- Rural treasures: The farmers' market at the Riverbank Discovery Centre returns to Thursday evenings. Until 8 p.m.
* 7 p.m. -- Fresh air and tunes: The Music in the Parks concert series presents Fingal's Last Pint at Eleanor Kidd Gardens. Admission is free.
Friday, July 23
* 7 a.m. -- Pancakes for all: A community breakfast kicks off the 2010 Neepawa Lily Festival. Along with the brilliant blooms, the event will also feature artistic workshops, live music, horse tours, cultural entertainment and much more. For details, visit lilyfestival.com. Until Sunday.
* 9 a.m. -- Celebrating rural life: The annual agricultural fair in Harding will be held at the fair grounds and will include a gymkhana and other horse events, cattle shows, displays of home living, horticulture, grains and grasses and more. Celebrating its 100th edition will be the Reston/Pipestone/Albert agricultural fair.
* 11 a.m. -- Nature's bounty: The weekly farmers' market in Russell and in Boissevain is open for the season. Until 2 p.m.
* 1 p.m. -- New adventures: A new interpretive trail and boardwalk will be officially unveiled at Silver Beach Lake. Storytelling and other outdoor activities are planned.
* 4 p.m. -- Farm fresh: The weekly Shoppers Mall farmers' market returns to the northeast corner of the parking lot. Until 7 p.m. Beside the Royal Canadian Legion in Minnedosa, a farmers' market will be held until 6 p.m.
* 5 p.m. -- Marking 125 years: Kicking off with a supper at the Leisure Inn, Newdale's anniversary festivities continues with displays of local art, school reunions, a parade, a family picnic, tournaments, a dance featuring the music of Bill and Sue-On Hillman, and much more. * 7 p.m. -- Music in the air: The Lakeside Sunset Music Series continues in the Erin Park Pavilion. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy local entertainment.
* 7 p.m. -- Under the leafy canopy: The Brandon Folk Music and Art Festival returns to the green space in the Keystone Centre grounds. This year's lineup include Buffy Sainte-Marie, Oh My Darling, Son Latino Band, Flying Fox and the Hunter Gatherers, Dan Frechette and the Dylanaires and many others. * 8 p.m. -- Swingin' rhythms: The International Music Camp's jazz faculty band will give a show at 8 p.m., at the Burdick Centre, in the International Peace Garden.
* Dusk -- For the whole family: The second of three free movies under the stars, "Furry Vengeance," hosted by the City of Brandon, will be screened at the Riverbank Discovery Centre.
Saturday, July 24
* 6 a.m. -- In the heart of the park: A sunrise paddle kicks off the annual Clear Lake Weekend. Other family-friendly activities include a bike tour, water theatre, a boat parade, a water fight and more. Continues on Sunday.
* 9 a.m. -- It's fair time: The Cypress River agricultural fair as well as those in Oak Lake, Reston and Plumas will celebrate rural life with horse and cattle shows, displays, parades and more.
* 9 a.m. -- Treasures from the country: The Town Centre parkade will be filled with produce and crafts during the farmers' market. Until noon. In Killarney, the market is open until 11 a.m., the Cypress River market runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and the one in Souris runs from 10 to 11 a.m. Meanwhile at the Riverbank Discovery Centre, the farmers and artisans will have their products displayed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
* 10 a.m. -- Early birds get the deals: A fundraising garage sale will be held at McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church, with proceeds donated to Samaritan House. A barbecue lunch will be served from noon to 1 p.m. The sale ends at 3 p.m.
* 10 a.m. -- Talented kids: The International Music Camp's weekend show features the participants in the band, jazz band, vocal jazz and dance programs. Performances will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Burdick Centre for the Performing Arts. In the International Peace Garden.
* Noon -- Polished and powerful: An antique car and tractor show will be held in Neepawa's Riverbend Park.
* 1 p.m. -- Check it out: The annual Doors Open, self-guided tours of Brandon's historical homes and businesses is back. The stops include the Daly House Museum, the stone fence at Princess Avenue and 17th Street, Clark Hall, Moreland Manor, St. Augustine Church, Central Fire Station and 11 others. Free passports are available at Sobeys, the Riverbank Discovery Centre, Homelife Realty and the city hall treasury office. Until 3:30 p.m. Also on Sunday, between 1 and 3:30 p.m.

* 11 a.m. -- The season's best: A farmers' market in Ninette will be open until 12:30 p.m.
* 11 a.m. -- Finds from the past: The Margaret Laurence Home presents its annual antique and collectible sale, which will be held at the Yellowhead Centre Hall in Neepawa. Until 4 p.m. For details, call 476-3612.
* 1 p.m. -- Bring your friends: The Westman Intergroup is hosting a summer picnic in River Bend Park, east of First Street, on Veterans Way. Bring lawn chairs, baseball gloves and musical instruments. Call 761-2685 for details.
* 1 p.m. -- A meeting place: Young adults, between the ages of 18 and 35, are invited to take in a fun afternoon of games and food, at St. Augustine parish grounds.
* 2 p.m. -- Fàilte! The Westman Scottish Association presents the 10th annual Caledonian Games in the ball park in Kenton. Toss the sheaf, putt the shot, farmers' walk, porridge eating contest, pillow fights, Highland dancing, pipes and drums performances. Admission at gate.
* 2 p.m. -- Boning up: Discover some secrets behind the creation of a novel from local author Craig Russell. His workshop explains how to use theatre principles to improve creative writing. At the Brandon Folk Music and Art Festival, in the green space at the Keystone Centre.
* 2 p.m. -- Summertime tunes: Victoria Park's stage, located on the south end of the natural bowl, will feature hometown folk singer Glen Sutter. Admission is free.

* The Brandon Folk Music and Art Festival kickoff takes place tonight at Clancy's Eatery and Drinkery.
* At The Double Decker Tavern, Tuesdays are jamming nights for all interested musicians.
* Georgie's patio is featuring karaoke this Friday night.
* At Houstons, Gin Palace plays on Friday night, while on Saturday evening, a DJ spins the tunes.
* At the Great Western Roadhouse, a DJ gets the party going on Friday and Saturday nights.
* At the Lady of the Lake pub, Kirby warms things up at 7 p.m., then the Good Vibe Tribe and Assinibeats gets the dancing going at 10 p.m. on Thursday. On Friday, Alexander McCowan with his brand of folk/soul/pop entertains from 8 p.m. onward, On Saturday, The Tom Dowden Jazz Quintet takes the stage at 8 p.m.
* Montana's Cookhouse features live music, performed by acoustic guitarist Jon Chiupka, followed by an open mike session on the patio every Tuesday evening.
* A jam night is held every Monday evening, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Sweets of Eden, at the corner of First Street and Louise Avenue.

Galleries & Museums
* Fanfare for the common man: Twenty-six photos by Yousuf Karsh entitled collectively as "Industrial Images" will be displayed until Aug. 14 at the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba. Admission is free.
* From days gone by: "Images" a new collection of historic photos from Manitoba's Rural and Northern Archives in collaboration with the S.J. McKee Archives is now on display in the Tommy McLeod Curve Gallery, in the John E. Robbins Library on the BU campus. Until Sept. 3. Admission is free.
* Bringing history to life: The RCA Museum in Shilo has just opened a Manitoba-focused exhibition space and is currently hosting a travelling tour of 100 years of mortars. The museum is open daily. Located in building N-118, Patricia Road, at CFB Shilo. Admission at the door.
* Saluting the past: The Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum rewinds the clock to the 1940s. Vintage aircraft, tunics, caps, radio equipment and more await. Admission at the door.
* Great-grandparents' era: The Daly House Museum presents a slice of Victorian life. A tour guide takes visitors back through time in the exhibits of a period house, shop and more. Summer hours are 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission at the door.
* Talented hands: Works of art by Stephanie Harvey and a collection of John Deere toys are on display at the Heritage Arts Centre in Hamiota until the end of the July.
