Chris Parlow would like to show his gratitude for this picture of a lighthouse that Brandon's Michelle and Wade Ritchie sent to him recently. (SUBMITTED)
I am humbled, and very grateful thanks to a family from Brandon who would rather I keep their act of kindness private, I know.
However I wanted to share with your readers how a selfless act turned a day into a special day that will always be remembered.
Recently, I submitted an article to the Brandon Sun about Addictions Awareness Week, in which I described how many of us who deal with addiction/illness have lighthouses in our life who inspire us to be better than who we are and help us when we deal with life’s rocky shores.
On Nov. 29, a delivery person dropped off a box to my attention in B.C., from Brandon.
Michelle and Wade Ritchie had enclosed a beautiful picture of a lighthouse in the box, along with a card which will always be treasured.
Special days happen because of special people, which Brandon has a wealth of.
