I am very upset at our MTS right now. We live 21 miles from Killarney on a farm, which has very poor cell reception. Recently, our phone went out on us, and my husband went out into the middle of our hay crop to get cell reception. He got a guy from MTS on the line, and he told him our phone was out. He was told that ours was not the only one out, and in that case it would be fixed in a couple of days. That was on Tuesday, Sept. 24. He was also told that if it had just been ours, it would be next Monday. I could not believe that it would take nearly a week to get it fixed. So, onward we go!
When it had not been fixed by Thursday, I phoned MTS and asked why our phone had not been fixed yet. The guy that I was speaking to told me that they had tried to fix it from their end, but could not do so. An appointment had been scheduled for our phone to be fixed on the following Monday. I told him that was NOT what my husband was told — he was told it would be fixed in a couple of days. He told me he didn’t have any idea who told him that and that it would not be fixed until Monday. I told him that was unacceptable, we lived 21 miles from town, on a farm with very little cell reception. We needed a phone in the house. Our child was at school and if something were to happen, someone would have to drive 21 miles to get us if there was an emergency and then us have to drive all the way back to town. Then I asked, what if we needed 911, an ambulance, fire or police, then what? Run all the way out to the hay field with our cellphone? He kept telling me over and over that he understood our situation but there was nothing he could do.
