I am writing to ask for your help in tracking down a witness to a hit-and-run incident that took place on March 13 at approximately 2:30 p.m.
I was parked in the lot of Chancellor Dental on 18th Street while undergoing a procedure. When I left the office, I noticed a big, red truck parked within about six inches of my vehicle and saw a black tire mark on the bumper of my car.
Thinking that the owner might be a patient, I returned to the office and asked if the truck belonged to anyone.
A person in the waiting room told me that the truck had hit my car and that the young woman and the little boy had left the area and walked across the street toward the university.
I thanked the person, but neglected to get his/her name or phone number. Now it seems the guilty party refuses to accept responsibility and I will have to pay the deductible to get my car fixed.
If my witness would get in touch with either me, the Brandon Sun or MPI, I would really appreciate it.
Guilty parties should be held accountable for their actions rather than making innocent people pay for the mistakes of others.
