Maguire ready to work for Brandon-Souris residents

I want to thank everyone who voted in the recent byelection. As you may have heard, Brandon-Souris led all other constituencies holding byelections across Canada on Nov. 25 in terms of voter turnout. On election night, Canadians from coast to coast to coast were tuned in to events unfolding right here in our own backyard.

It is an incredible honour to be elected member of Parliament for Brandon-Souris. As you know, this was a hard fought campaign and I congratulate all of the other candidates who put their name forward. I also want to thank the many campaign volunteers who worked hard this past month, regardless of the party they support.

As I said back in August when I kicked off my campaign, I believe Brandon-Souris has incredible potential. There is so much exciting development happening, both in Brandon and in the surrounding area. But we cannot ignore the very real challenges that arise as a result of this economic growth.

I don’t need to tell any of you that our streets, roads and highways require new investment, or that many of our sewage and wastewater facilities are reaching their limits. You may very well live in a community that is struggling with a lack of affordable housing or may run a small business that is having problems finding employees with necessary skills.

These challenges can only be met if officials from municipal, provincial and federal governments come together with local community and business leaders in order to prioritize challenges and then begin working together towards achieving real results.

It is my commitment to you, the voters of Brandon-Souris, that I will be open and willing to work with community leaders from across our region to get projects moving in the right direction. My door will be open and my office will be accessible and accountable to you. I am committed to providing you and your family, friends and neighbours with exceptional constituent services.

Once I have the honour of being officially sworn in as member of Parliament, my email address will be activated and you will be able to reach me at larry.maguire@parl.gc.ca. The phone number at my Brandon constituency office will also be activated and you will be able to reach me at 204-726-7600.

I am excited about this new opportunity to serve and deliver for Brandon-Souris. I look forward to being your voice in Ottawa.

Larry Maguire

Conservative member

of Parliament-elect,

Brandon-Souris

Mr.Maguire has said all those nice things about constituent representation
one would expect him to say. Clearly omitted is any reference to how much
he's looking forward to getting direction from his national leader Stephen Harper.
Could it be that he really isn't looking forward to being led by a leader
who is cloaked in scandal, cover-ups and nastiness?
