I would have to agree that a permanent solution is better than a temporary one when it comes to new classrooms in Brandon. Seeing the new portables seems like a Band-Aid solution and it sometimes feels like a cop-out by the provincial government to avoid spending new money on schools.
However, it does seem to me that there may already be a school in the south end of Brandon.
Assuming that the province would get the ACC move finished already, so that our college could be at one location, it seems to me that the east end would be well served by having a high school in that location.
As a graduate of Neelin, I would be saddened to see it no longer be a high school, but location-wise it is really close to Crocus Plains, making that part of town overserved, while the east and north ends are underserved.
The ACC campus would make sense as a high school, considering how difficult it is to get into some of Crocus’ popular programs.
