Regarding the ongoing protests in Ferguson, Mo.: How much of the protests are related to poverty in America if you are black?
People who are middle class do not behave as the people in Ferguson, Mo., have done this past week. Stealing from many stores! Why is there no coverage on the difficult lives these people have and how no American dream exists for them? The media is missing the real story!
America is an awful place to live if you are poor, in fact the worst place in the western world with little government assistance compared to other western NATO countries. The problem in Ferguson is not just how good the policing is, it’s how desperate the poor in the community are. People who feel they have something to lose do not burn down their own houses and loot the stores in their community.
We must understand that these folks are alienated from American society. A gifted, smart and empathic black man in the White House has not resolved the problem of poverty in America. The problem is beyond the efforts of even one president.
