Premier Selinger's comments about Remembrance Day 'disappointing'

Are we to lose our Canadian identity piece by piece?

It feels like we are being chiselled into a bland and faceless people.

Canadians pride themselves in our achievements in conflicts and peacekeeping. We show our gratitude to those who have sacrificed their lives for us, and our appreciation and care of our veterans and for those who still serve Canada.

We say “thank you.”

It was disappointing to read the comments made by Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger.

Remembrance Day is “being grateful” for the freedoms we have and enjoy.

We have much to be grateful for and we owe our veterans more than words could ever express.

Our Canada would not be the Canada we have, without the dedication and sacrifices of our Canadian veterans and military serving personnel.

Remembrance Day services recognize the achievements and offers a time to reflect and show our gratitude. It is a time to honour our veterans and rekindle our thoughts: Lest we forget.
