Put all those pennies to good use

As the penny disappears into obscurity, wouldn't it be great if the citizens of Brandon were to drop off all their soon to be useless pennies to city hall ... where a barrel could be set up to collect them for use by the food bank?

We don't have any idea what volume of penny lies out there ... whose piggy banks will be bankrupted or what amount is being deducted from the economy by their sudden disappearance.

When you get rid of the prime number in Canada's system of national accounts, a penny lost is a penny stolen.
