Second poll tells different story

In contrast to a fairly recent national opinion poll showing the popularity of Premier Greg Selinger to be about the lowest among Canadian premiers, the Winnipeg Free Press on Saturday, April 5, published the results of its latest online opinion survey showing 53 per cent of respondents approving his performance.

Those who disapproved equalled 42 per cent with five per cent being unsure.

The national poll is a sample poll based on a relatively small number of participants, while the number of respondents in the Free Press opinion survey equalled an impressive 10,337 persons.

These figures could suggest that the NDP provincial government is not as unpopular as has been made out in recent reports.

I'm glad to know that the majority of the backers of the NDP know how to use the internet in this province but dismayed that they do not know how to balance a cheque book.
