Self-serving behaviour unacceptable

Thanks very much for the strong editorial condemning the selective austerity practised by the Harper government.

Some self-serving behaviour from human beings is not unusual or unexpected, but this government has displayed a clear pattern of silencing competing voices and broadcasting its own version of what it thinks the public needs to know.

It’s an old trick performed more or less successfully by many regimes since the Romans ruled the western world.

Still, it is encouraging to know that people in news media notice and complain when they see the trick performed again.

Hopefully, other Canadians will take note and let their representatives know that such behaviour is unacceptable.
