Thank you for making residents' Massey Manor dream come true

My daughter and I are among the very lucky people who were able to move into Massey Manor last week. It was a long wait but that is irrelevant now! For this wait has been worth it! To live in unsafe surroundings, pay astronomical rent, live in fear and poverty are things no one deserves.

Massey Manor has been a dream, years in the making and is now a dream that has finally come true. It was a vision that was striven towards for many years by agencies and people who refused to give up.

Home is where the heart is and now our hearts are bathed in happiness, safety and far less stress.

I want to say a special thank you to CMHA, which was unwavering in its support.

Thank you, Ron, Rick, Barry, Stacey, Jeff and the other movers that worked tirelessly with smiles on their faces. They moved at least six families as of Friday afternoon. You are awesome people. Nina McGregor helped tremendously with the stress of the wait.

Thank you to Glen Kruck whom I have known now for 23 years. You have been a tireless advocate for the homeless and poor in Brandon from the start. Very few people have the kind of dedication, empathy and commitment that you do. You are never afraid to stand up for what is right and it does not go unnoticed.

The atmosphere at Massey Manor now I can describe as quite joyous as people move in and finally meet their new neighbours!

Brandon has every reason to be extremely proud of this housing complex!
