Thanks to everyone in Brandon who participated in the Manitoba Lotteries Heart & Stroke Big Bike ride, we will be one step closer to making death wait. Our goal is to eliminate heart disease and stroke and we couldn’t do it without the support of our Big Bike captains, teams, volunteers and donors. The people of Brandon raised more than $27,000, which will go towards important heart disease and stroke research and the promotion of heart healthy habits.
The following are the teams who supported our June 2012 event and the total funds they raised:
• Maple Leaf — $3,483.34
• Scotiabank — $2,174.50
• Brandon University — $2,424.85
• Canad Inns Brandon — $932
• Rylie’s Ride — $2,362
• Fairview Home — $2,127.25
• Brandon Correctional Centre —$1,689.56

Since 1957, the Heart and Stroke Foundation has been dedicated to research, prevention and overall wellness. Heart disease and stroke is still the leading cause of death in Manitoba, which means we have more work to do. With your continued support and generosity, we are paving the way to a future free of cardiovascular disease for all Manitobans.
On behalf of the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Manitoba, I would like to thank the teams, volunteers and donors once again for their assistance and belief in our vision. Your ongoing support and generosity mean a lot to us.
