Hey there, time traveller!

I’m 18 years old, and now that it’s summertime, I love to ride my bike to get around town. Not because I don’t have a car or licence. It’s just cheaper, way better for the environment, great for our health — and it’s just nice to get fresh air instead of sitting in an air-conditioned car.
And you see more than if you were zipping around in a vehicle!
Brandon’s a small enough town where it’s so easy and efficient to get around, but the thing is I barely ever see people outside biking or walking, especially compared to the number of giant trucks and cars everywhere!
Also, giant truck drivers can sometimes be a bit ignorant and scary when watching for pedestrians and bikers.
So many people I know jump in the car to get somewhere so close by.
I’m not sure if people are lazy or think they won’t look as cool if they’re not in a fancy car, or they just don’t think about it. Cars are one of the worst things for our environment! It may not seem like much, but every person who uses their car less can have a really huge impact.
I wish our community as a whole could become more aware and think twice before using the car to get everywhere. We should consider the wonderful benefits of using a bike for transportation! It’s just so much better in every way!
