A message to all people this Halloween — when you see people (kids or adults) dressed up as “witches,” challenge them for their ignorant bigotry, don’t justify it, don’t condone it.
If someone dressed as a stereotype of any other philosophical, religious, cultural, racial, or gender groups there’d be H-E-double-hocky-sticks to pay and you know it. Well, as an occult witch, I’m sick of this and I’m not alone!
For myself and my occult and witch kin, this is bigotry, stereotyping, demonization and persecution, and it has to stop!
Either that or people should be able to mock other groups and people on Halloween by demonizing and making them look evil and stereotyping them. This is what I shall do in our defence. Stupidly ignore it to your own denigration witches/occultists!
Actual witches who justify or condone or participate in such, are like Muslims that would dress up as terrorists. It isn’t self-deprecating humour, it’s helping propagate hypocritical and bigoted ignorance, scapegoating, demonization and persecution.
Please think objectively about this. Thanks for reading and seriously considering.
