So our own calm and collected Greg Selinger is slowly starting to emerge from the long shadow cast by his charismatic predecessor, Gary Doer.
While Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall remains the most popular Canadian first minister, Selinger showed a significant spike in support in a new Angus Reid survey.
After leading the NDP to a fourth majority government last fall — his first at the helm of the party — Selinger has moved up one notch to be second on the list of provincial heads of government.
Doer was perennially picked as the most popular premier.
Westman will get to show its own affection for Selinger this week, as he’s scheduled to visit the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair tomorrow.
We suggest he gets the Royal treatment, as many of our hopes and dreams could be dashed by a stroke of his pen in next month’s provincial budget.
But until that happens, Premier Selinger, you’re tops in our books!

I wonder if they asked anyone in South Western Manitoba their opinion on the Premier after this past year's flood? Highly doubt it...
