Lost credibility
Interesting how Chief Spence suddenly abandoned her hunger strike (where she appeared to gain weight) because her 200-member reserve gave her the ultimatum to return or get replaced! That six-figure salary she shares with the two other co-chiefs was obviously the “game-breaker.” When will the rank-and-file reserve residents turn their frustration and venom where it belongs — against their leadership rather than the federal government. The Idle No More movement has lost all credibility as a result of this ridiculous and laughable charade.
No rotten oranges for Christmas
Forgot to say “thanks” at Christmas time. Staff in the Safeway store, Shoppers Mall, took all the Japanese oranges out of the boxes and displayed them as bulk. Shoppers then took one of the empty boxes and filled with great oranges. This way you didn’t get home and discover that you paid for rotten oranges at the bottom of the box. This was very much appreciated.
No semis allowed
It is time that we restrict semi-trailers, semi-trucks going through Kemnay unless they actually have a delivery there. It is only a matter of time until the bridge itself becomes compromised and will add to more dollars being spent. I think that would be an effective way to put a stop the semis getting stuck under that bridge.
What an idea!
Stabilize the Keystone Centre and the Brandon Wheat Kings. Now here is an idea — get a gaming centre here in Brandon to financially support the Keystone Centre and the Brandon Wheat Kings which is exactly the same as Winnipeg.
Many thanks for many things
I would like to thank the City of Brandon and the Province of Manitoba for the fast cleaning of our highways and roads after this last snowstorm in early January, and also to the city for being so quick for bringing around sand. Thank you, you are doing a great job! Also I want to say I was lucky enough to attend the Robbie Burns dinner at the Victoria Inn and I want to give a big thanks to the amazing staff there. The meal was wonderful and the service was prompt. It was a great evening.
Speaking from experience
I would like to attempt to clarify an issue about waking up wet, soiled residents in personal care homes during the night to change them. While this is standard protocol in personal care homes, what is not and which does occur is waking up certain residents around 4 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. and washing and dressing them and laying them down on top of their beds in an attempt to ease the workload of the day staff. I have personally worked in two nursing homes as a nurse during the night in which this does occur. I personally do not agree with the latter protocol, however I do agree with the first protocol.
God is not to blame
Don’t blame God for all the evil of our world. God put people on Earth to think for themselves. It is the people of our planet that, through their greed and stupidity, cause all the terrible things to happen.
How many more years do they need?
To the school custodian, the school board needs how many “more years” to work out what to do with bullies? I’ll tell you what to do with them, give them a good strapping and print their picture in the paper. Our school board has no guts or brains.
