Dogs are cleaner than most people
In response to the “Landlord Defends Pet Ban,” in the Jan. 7 Sound Off. Dogs are like people only cleaner and smarter than many people. Small lap dogs are very clean if trained properly. Landlords should require a fair deposit. Many seniors could not last without their pets. My lap dog could not wake me one night and did her duty in the bathtub. This was good thinking.
Loosen the rental rules
I totally agree with the Sound Offs which have stated that there would be far more regular places for people to rent if landlords weren’t allowed to ban pets and smoking. What gives them the right? They can’t ban kids? If there is an issue with damage or noise, then that’s what damage deposits and the police are there for, respectively.
Looking better than the big city
Night after night I listen to the news from Winnipeg and see the terrible job the plows are doing in that city. And I think we are looking very fine. Brandon has cleaned up very well and our drivers are doing a great job.
Thanks for the cleanup on Wedgewood
I would like to congratulate the grader operater and the rotor operator from Wedgewood Bay. They have done a fantastic job of cleaning the streets and cleaning off the people’s driveways without ripping up the grass. Thank you very much.
You’re blocking my way
Dear neighbour who parks their vehicle across the sidewalk. Please don’t. Thanks.
Oooh, a big conspiracy in the volleyball stands!
Regarding the Sound Off, “Watch The One You’re With.” Land sakes, we sure live in a small town where friends and neighbours can’t even be seen talking together without someone’s paranoia running rampant. And I’m grateful that we do live where our prominent citizens know each other personally and can talk civilly like grownups outside of work, yes, even in a public place! Maybe you should “watch” the game and keep your eyes on the ball instead of trying to stir up negative innuendo against others. Get a life!
Wait for free service or visit private clinic and pay
Recently there was a complaint about an MRI being cancelled six times. I have had several MRIs, CT scans in 2013. I never had to wait more then a couple weeks for any of them. I had them in Winkler, Brandon and Winnipeg. I would have to say the speed of getting into them all was acceptable. If you are not happy with your “free” health care, then go to a private clinic and pay.
Thanks for volunteering
I have been a volunteer for Operation Red Nose for 11 years. It was nice this year to see our Brandon mayor and also three councillors volunteering for this worthy cause.
Thank you for coming to my aid
A heartfelt thanks to the young man who responded to my calling for help on Jan. 2 at 6:40 p.m. in the Superstore parking lot while a lady tried to snatch my purse and was slowly driving away while I tried to hang on to my purse. May God bless you for your act of kindness and concern. Thank you from a grateful senior citizen.
