Brandon Sun - PRINT EDITION

Sound Off -- Jan. 27, 2014

What has become of our health-care system?

We have babies born on the side of the road. We have people waiting for a year to have a test to confirm a diagnosis of now advanced cancer. We have people from the hospital being sent home in the middle of the night and freezing to death on the doorstep. We have finger-pointing at taxi cab drivers for these lives lost. What is wrong with this picture? Is this Canada or a Third World country? Doctors, you have to demand more for your patients.

A rose for our hospital

I feel that I owe a very big thank you to the staff of the observation unit (Unit 300) of the BRHC. While spending a week with you, I will never forget the kindness, friendliness and patience I was shown by every one of you. God bless you all. From a thankful patient.

How about starting with mail service every other day?

I was astounded to learn that Canada Post plans to end home delivery of our mail. May I offer an alternative plan? Would it be possible to reduce home delivery to twice a week? Half the city could receive deliveries on Tuesday and Thursday, the other half Wednesday and Friday. What say you, Canada Post?

Come join the wave!

Just got home from one of the most exciting Wheat King games I have seen since the game against Calgary during the Memorial Cup that Brandon hosted. Thank you to the guys for giving it 100 per cent almost every shift! This is not going unnoticed. You have done your part, now I hope by sharing this some of you readers who are ex-fans can get back on the wagon. Come see what you are missing and who knows, we may even get the wave started again!
