Move on down the street
To the people who are complaining about Clancy’s Eatery and Drinkery closing down and lamenting the fact that live bands cannot play there now. Well, there is another bar and restaurant downtown that has live music, it is the Double Decker, check it out, good food too!
Better to be safe than sorry
In regards to the Sound Off last week about Sixth Street and Queens Avenue not being a four-way stop. No, it’s not a four-way stop, but there is a pedestrian crossing there so let’s grab a brain. Pedestrians have the right of way.
Hoodlums need a good spanking
Spanking causes mental illness — come on give me a break! Surely you have more important things to do with your time! These findings are likely due to illnesses and problems that were never diagnosed in the first place. Spanking sometimes let children know that some things just won’t be tolerated. Perhaps a few spankings would be in order for the 15-year-olds going around setting fires! I knew where my kids were at that age — in bed at three o’clock in the morning! Perhaps it is the parents that should be parents! However it is time to put something more severe into our justice system for these situation. Perhaps a good spanking!
Try visiting somewhere else
I was in the hospital in January — surgery third floor. I was awake the whole night as the nurses were sitting at their station talking and laughing. Now I know someone had the same problem recently on a different floor. Do the nurses not realize that patients are either in there because they are very sick or in much pain and need to get some sleep. The amount that nurses get paid you would think they would have some respect for the patients’ well-being and let them get some sleep at night. If there is no work to do, maybe they could read a book quietly.
No need to be rude
To the man riding the medichair at Ninth Street and Lorne Avenue on Tuesday afternoon — I am sorry that life has made you bitter, but being abusive to others is not going to help anyone. Next time try to see things from another point of view, and remember that a smile and a kind word do wonders when dealing with fellow humans.
Thanks for keeping us safe
Congrats to our parent volunteers. Just wanted to say thanks to all of the parent volunteers that made Vincent Massey’s safe grad possible. We had a great time and you looked after us well. The party was totally awesome and we were safe! You rock!
Only a matter of time
In light of the recent collapse on Highway 83, the Highways Department needs to address Highway 10 through Riding Mountain National Park as well. This highway is also quickly deteriorating and will not withstand many more fluffy patch jobs before it ends up in a tragic mess in the ravine. If you are going to do it, you had better do it right!
