One hit will do
Just a simple Sound Off to the VLT players who pound repeatedly on the buttons on their terminals. It’s not going to make any difference in whether you have luck or not, it certainly is annoying though. Good luck … remember just once!
A more mellow group
To the person who said marijuana will lead to a person doing harder drugs. There are those who take everything to an extreme, whether it be food, alcohol, drugs, gambling, etc. That is just the way people are — we are addictive creatures. “You” have to be the one who takes control. I would rather be in a room with people smoking or using marijuana for tea or whatever they use than in a place where people are drinking. You won’t see anybody in the marijuana room beating up their wives, kids, pets or fighting with each other.
Hope they pay their fair share
This is concerning the marijuana story on the front of Feb. 23 paper. According to my math the consulting fees could be any where between $800,000 and $2.4 million. I hope someone is looking at these people’s books and that they are paying the appropriate amount of taxes.
Go back to the book and take a look
Christian school boards and individuals who oppose the Bill 18 anti-bullying legislation because of the gay person section should go back to their Bibles and re-read Luke 7:36-50. Dialogue is never wasted; maybe you might learn something if you get past your pre-judgments.
Attendance down due to noise
The volume of noise at the Wheaties games has been somewhat better the last two games. However, the selection is still not great. There was a short spell on Wednesday night that you could hear a bit of cheering by fans. Before no one cheered, as you couldn’t have been heard over the noise anyway. Many people who have gone to the games for a long, long time and have gone through win, lose or draw, have quit going. It is not because of the rough year the team is having, but because of the loud noise. Will those people come back now, or has this gone on too long? Complaints have fallen on deaf ears for a long time.
We need a new government
Firstly, before we see any substantial raise in OAS for seniors or anything towards helping our vets, we will need a new government. Mr. Harper could care less about these folks. Seniors will continue to get their yearly $1 a month raise and he will continue to give less and less to the vets. And no sense talking to our beloved figurehead, Mr. Tweed, who sits at the right hand of Stephen, the almighty, and is told to sit in his corner, say nothing except “yes, Your Almighty” or when he is told what to say by Mr. Harper. We actually have to elect a government who cares about people rather than themselves with their big wages, over spent (constantly) expense accounts, and golden handshake of a pension giving hundreds of millions to other countries and doing nothing for his own citizens. Hope all you Conservative voters feel real good about who you put in power.
